Lawyer Overview

Ms. Donna Bates is an associate in the Firm's Litigation Department. Ms. Bates joins us from the District Attorney's office of the 4th Judicial District in Colorado. Her responsibilities as a Deputy District Attorney provide an extensive amount of trial and courtroom experience. Before working in Colorado, Ms. Bates was an associate with Postner and Rubin in New York City where she focused on construction litigation. Prior to her legal career, Ms. Bates served as an officer in the United States Air Force with tours of duty in Texas and Japan.

Ms. Bates graduated from the United States Air Force Academy (B.S., 1992) and Fordham Law School (J.D., 2004).  She was the editor for ADR and The Law, Fordham International Law Journal. She is the author of "A Consumer's Dream or Pandora's Box: Is Arbitration a Viable Option for Cross-Border Consumer Disputes?," 27 Fordham Int'l L.J. 823 (January 2004).

Ms. Bates is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey and Colorado, as well as in the United States District Court, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the United States District Court, District of New Jersey.   She is a member of the New York State Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the Colorado Bar Association.
