Mr. Landes brings great creativity and experience in both criminal law and the arts to the firm.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Landes gained a breadth of criminal law experience defending and prosecuting crimes. First, Mr. Landes worked at the Los Angeles County Public Defender's Office in Compton, where he prepared clients for felony arraignments, assisted at felony jury trials, and wrote numerous motions and briefs. In one notable case, Mr. Landes successfully moved for the dismissal of a murder charge. Second, Mr. Landes expanded his experience at the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Nevada, where his court appearances included arraignments, grand jury returns, detention hearings, revocation hearings, and suppression and sentencing hearings. Mr. Landes is a creative thinker and persuasive writer, and has authored habeas corpus petitions as well as a number of successful appellate briefs in the Second, Ninth and District of Columbia Circuits.

While at Pepperdine University School of Law, Mr. Landes was the Note & Comment Editor of the Pepperdine Law Review and was the research assistant to Dean Kenneth W. Starr on Morse v. Frederick, the "Bong Hits 4 Jesus" case decided by the United States Supreme Court. 551 U.S. 393 (2007). Mr. Landes also delivered the Student Speech at his law school graduation.

In addition to criminal matters, Mr. Landes handles a wide variety of civil matters with a special emphasis on intellectual property and entertainment litigation. Mr. Landes is a graduate of the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, where he majored in Film and Television Production. After earning his B.F.A. from Tisch, Mr. Landes completed a number of screenwriting assignments. Reeling in Reality, a film that he wrote and directed, was an Official Selection of the Angelica New Filmmakers New York Summer Series in 2005.
