Michael Paul's practice focuses on international litigation, dispute resolution, intellectual property, and general corporate matters.

Prior to joining Jones Day in 2007, Michael was with the New York intellectual property law firm Kenyon & Kenyon LLP, where his practice was concentrated on patent prosecution (both foreign and domestic) and counseling, with particular emphasis in the electrical, computer software, mechanical, and biomedical arts. Michael has counseled clients on a variety of intellectual property issues, including the determination of patentability, infringement analysis, due diligence evaluations of patent portfolios, validity of patents, clearance opinions, technology transfer, and licensing. Michael also has experience in interference, reexamination, and European patent opposition proceedings.

Michael is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, and the Asian American Bar Association of New York.

Before his career in law, Michael was employed as engineer in the telecommunications industry, where he acquired considerable experience in wireless communications protocols and standards.
