Po-Chien Chen has earned foreign master's degrees in law and business, and this blended knowledge gives him the unique ability to deal with issues and corporate clients from both a legal and business viewpoint. Po-Chien's practice is devoted to dispute resolution of intellectual property rights, and he has experience working in various legal environments, including patent litigation, trademark disputes, copyright infringement, business litigation, and conflict resolution.

Prior to joining Jones Day, Po-Chien interned for one year at the China National Aviation Holding Asset Management Company (parent company of Air China) in Beijing, China, where he was involved in aviation and business law matters. During this time he also participated in examining financial and marketing strategies related to the company.

In addition, Po-Chien worked at several law firms in Taipei where he negotiated contracts and analyzed legal and business issues for companies in China; settled disputes as a legal consultant between companies in Taiwan and China; led and managed litigations pertaining to civil, business, competition law, and regulations; assisted foreign companies in entering the Chinese market; and helped clients in finding feasible solutions to business conflicts. He served with Taiwan's Bureau of Investigation as well and has experience in criminal investigations and national security.

Po-Chien is a member of IP Law Committee of the Taipei Bar Association.
