Lawyer Overview

Mr. Gillespie focuses his practice in land use and environmental law with a special emphasis on litigation. Mr. Gillespie has represented both municipal and private clients. He helped represent a coalition of 46 cities and counties in their appeal of Ecology's Phase II stormwater regulations to the Pollution Control Hearings Board and has represented a number of developer clients with both their transactional and litigation needs before administrative tribunals as well as superior court. Mr. Gillespie provided extensive legal counsel to the Port of Tacoma regarding entitlement issues associated with Port real estate holdings in Thurston County. He is familiar with SEPA, Shoreline Management Act, and Clean Water Act, among others.
