Lawyer Overview
Anika Singh Lemar joined Wiggin and Dana in 2007 as an associate in the Real Estate, Environmental & Land Use Department in the firm's New Haven office. She is involved in all areas of Wiggin and Dana's real estate practice, including commercial real estate and land use matters.
Anika's article on sustainable development and land use initiatives, Implementing Planned Urban and Suburban Development: The Case of New Jersey, appeared in the New York University Review of Law and Social Change in the fall of 2005. She has taught land use and urban redevelopment at Yale University and the Graduate Center for Planning and the Environment at the Pratt Institute. She is a member of the Board of Directors of The Next American City, a national urban affairs quarterly headquartered in Philadelphia.
Before joining Wiggin and Dana, Anika was a Skadden Fellow and Staff Attorney at the Community Development Project of the Urban Justice Center in New York. Anika’s work at the Urban Justice Center was featured in the New York Daily News, USA Today, and the New York Law Journal. From 2004 to 2005, she served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Janet C. Hall of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut.
Anika received her J.D., cum laude, from New York University School of Law and graduated with a B.A., cum laude, in Ethics, Politics, and Economics from Yale University. She is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut.
