Law Firm Overview
Scott King Field, the founder of The Field Law Firm, combines big-firm experience with the type of personal service only a small firm can provide. After a one year clerkship for Justice Raul Gonzalez on the Texas Supreme Court, Scott King Field practiced at Baker Botts, L.L.P., where he defended large, Fortune 500 companies in complex commercial litigation. He followed his time there by forming York, Keller & Field, L.L.P., where he served as managing partner, and continued representing mostly institutional clients, while also mixing in defense of individuals and some work on behalf of plaintiffs.
Scott King Field formed The Field Law Firm in March 2007 because he wanted to represent both companies and individuals in a wide variety of disputes, rather than focusing on defense. While still representing clients in defensive matters, the firm has also taken a lead role in representing individuals and businesses as plaintiffs in commercial disputes from patent infringement, to fraud, to deceptive trade practices. The firm also represents clients in personal injury cases. The results thus far have been remarkable.
No matter on what side of the docket the firm appears, the firm enriches the lives and businesses of its clients through zealous representation that is provided with the utmost in integrity and professionalism. Our first concern is the well-being of our clients.
Because of this perspective, we begin with an initial consultation with the client, which is free of charge. During that consultation, we will review with the client the legal and factual issues involved in the client's legal dispute, as well as fully explain what the client can expect from us.
If the case requires taking a dispute to trial, then The Field Law Firm is more than ready. Unlike most large firms that never intend to try a case, The Field Law Firm proceeds with every case with the mindset of going to trial if necessary. Everything we do is focused with that eventuality in mind. In addition, The Field Law Firm has a great deal of appellate experience such that our representation does not necessarily end at trial. We are vigilant in identifying potential issues for appeal while each case is ongoing at the trial court level.
Fortunately, not all cases go to trial. Our experience and ability enables many of our cases to settle out of court, without the costs and stress on the client of taking the case all the way through trial.
The legal system is an intimidating and sometimes frightening place for clients. Fortunately for our clients, The Field Law Firm knows how to navigate the legal system while providing sound counsel to clients as they make their journey. At The Field Law Firm, client service is our utmost concern, and client satisfaction is our utmost goal.
