Lawyer Overview

A senior associate in the Corporate Department, Karen M. Braun has a broad range of experience in the areas of derivatives, structured finance, secured finance, hedge funds, investment management, corporate governance and public finance. Ms. Braun served as chief legal officer and corporate secretary for CDC Investment Management Corporation, a registered investment adviser to hedge funds, funds of funds, mutual funds and separately managed accounts. She also served as senior counsel to the capital markets and financial guaranty subsidiaries of CDC IXIS in New York. As a consultant, Ms. Braun has handled diverse transactional matters for financial institutions including Bear Stearns and Citigroup.

Ms. Braun wrote a chapter titled "Basic Issues in Secondary Market Municipal Derivative Products" for Frontiers in Derivatives: State-of-the-Art Models, Valuation, Strategies & Products published by Irwin Professional Publishing in 1997.

Ms. Braun is a member of the Derivatives and Structured Products Law Committee of the New York State Bar Association.
