Law Firm Overview

The law firm that is today Waite Schneider Bayless & Chesley (WSBC) was founded in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1860. It remains the city's oldest law firm in continuous operation. The firm has a rich history with deep ties to the Cincinnati and Ohio legal communities. One of the firm's early partners, Morrison R. Waite (1866-1962), was the grandson of Morrison Remick Waite, an Ohioan who was the 7th Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court from 1874 to 1888.

With an eye toward future growth, the firm opened an office in Columbus, Ohio, in 2006. The Columbus office, which includes former Ohio Attorney General Jim Petro, also represents individuals and corporate clients in securities litigation, business litigation and antitrust cases. The WSBC Columbus office also provides clients with representation before state government agencies in Ohio and other states, as well as providing expertise in local government law, administrative law, election law and appellate advocacy.
