Lawyer Overview

James H. Nye joined the Houston office of Baker Hostetler in September 2006 as an associate in the Litigation Group. Mr. Nye assists corporate clients in a variety of areas, including complex commercial litigation, construction litigation, products liability and oil and gas litigation.

Prior to entering law school, Mr. Nye was a project manager for a Houston-based petrochemical engineering firm. In his role as project manager, Mr. Nye gained extensive experience in project scheduling, cost engineering and construction management.

During law school, Mr. Nye served as an intern for the Honorable Nancy K. Johnson, United States Magistrate Judge, Southern District of Texas. Mr. Nye was on the championship team for the John R. Brown National Admiralty Moot Court Competition and was awarded Best Brief and Best Speaker of the Championship Round.

Mr. Nye is a member of the Texas and Houston Bar Associations and the Texas Young Lawyers’ Association.
