Lawyer Overview
Julie Woolley is an associate in Baker Hostetler's Columbus office. She focuses her practice on transactional business law and is responsible for handling a variety of corporate matters for both public and privately held companies, including shareholder agreements, employment agreements, confidentiality agreements, noncompetition agreements, entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, financing documentation and other matters.
Ms. Woolley devotes a significant portion of her time to the representation of public companies in connection with negotiating and structuring various kinds of mergers and acquisitions. She also represents clients who have special needs in the field of energy cooperative law, such as issues related to capital credits and financing transactions through the National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation. She spends a significant amount of time on state regulatory matters affecting dental practice management companies. She also has experience drafting municipal ordinances and reviewing municipal contracts.
While in law school, Ms. Woolley externed with the Honorable Thomas J. Moyer, Chief Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court.
Ms. Woolley’s article, "A Proposal to End the Stalemate in the Caspian Sea Negotiations," was published in the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution in 2003 (under the name Julie M. Folger), and her thesis, "Overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia and their Social, Political & Economic Ties on Mainland China,' received the Alfred H. Sweet Prize at Washington & Jefferson College for the most competent piece of research in the field of history.
Ms. Woolley is a member of the American (Business Section), Ohio State, Columbus and Electric Cooperative Bar Associations. Ms. Woolley is also actively involved in the West Virginia Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership program and serves on the State Seminar Planning Committee and Corporate Board.
