Prior to joining Foley, Dr. Elliott was a patent agent at the patent boutique of Sterne Kessler Goldstein & Fox, P.L.L.C., where he prepared and prosecuted patent applications before the U.S. and foreign patent offices, researched and analyzed technical and legal matters for inventorship, patentability, due diligence, freedom to operate, non-infringement, and invalidity.
Prior to that, Dr. Elliott was a member of the faculty at Johns Hopkins Medical School and a post-doctoral fellow for the Center for Vaccine Development at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Elliott's scientific career focused on bacterial pathogenesis. He has published over 25 peer reviewed articles.
Dr. Elliot received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law School in 2007. He earned his Ph.D. in microbiology and molecular biology from the University of Western Australia in 1995. He received a B.S., cum laude with honors, in microbiology in 1989 and a B.S. with double majors in organic chemistry and microbiology from the University of Western Australia in 1988.
