Danielle Brink (Dan Tian) is a law clerk/international with Foley & Lardner LLP, where she is a member of the firm's IP Litigation and China Practices. Ms. Brink has an established and growing network of business and governmental contacts in China and the U.S. Being one of the first members of the firm's China Practice, Ms. Brink was instrumental in establishing Foley's Shanghai Office, further enhancing the firm's presence in China, and establishing Foley & Lardner as one of the key legal players for the 2007 Special Olympics Games in Shanghai. Ms. Brink's experience covers both IP and business matters. With respect to IP, Ms. Brink frequently assists highly-valued firm clients with IP litigation matters, with an emphasis on international trademark litigation and other IP legal services. Ms. Brink has also conducted a number of speaking engagements to clients, peers, and LL.M. students, covering Chinese IP protection and IP portfolio management and enforcement in China. On the business side, Ms. Brink is involved with Foley's Transactions & Securities, Bankruptcy & Business Reorganization Practices and Automobile Industry Team, with a particular focus on assisting with cross-border business transactions concerning establishing operations and doing business in China. Further, Ms. Brink is knowledgeable in joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and licensing and sales representative agreements. Ms. Brink has significant work experience in the U.S. and China. Prior to joining Foley, Ms. Brink interned and worked as a law clerk with Wildman Harrold Allen & Dixon LLP in Chicago, where she worked with high-profile IP American clients under the supervision of some of the firm's major partners to provide domain name, trademark, and licensing services. Also in this role, Ms. Brink conducted a comparative legal analysis regarding differences between litigation practice in China and the U.S. for an ongoing international litigation project. During this time, she also organized a reception for a delegation for the highest level IP governmental officers in China and the U.S. In China, Ms. Brink held several positions, including being recognized as a partner, at major law firms in Beijing, where she advised clients on how to strategically protect, exploit, and enforce intellectual property rights in China, and advised her clients on IP and corporate & securities matters. For example, she was the lead negotiator in a joint-bid governmental tender for China's first high speed train and international technology transfer, out of which developed the first five high speed trains linking Beijing and Tianjin during the 2008 Olympic Games. Ms. Brink received both her bachelor's degree (LL.B., 1992) in economic law and her master's degree (LL.M., 1999) in international economic law from the Law School of Jilin University, China.
