Kevin McHenry is an associate with Foley & Lardner LLP and a member of the Mechanical & Electromechanical Technologies and Chemical & Pharmaceutical Practices.

Mr. McHenry's experience includes patent prosecution, patent application drafting, and client counseling in the areas of metallurgy, materials science, manufacturing systems, automotive systems and components, automotive safety devices, heat exchangers, fuel cells, and medical devices. Mr. McHenry also has experience with freedom to operate and invalidity opinions, patent due diligence, and invalidity and infringement issues in patent litigation.

Prior to joining Foley, Mr. McHenry was a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, where he examined applications in the fields of metal fabrication, welding, and catalytic devices. Prior to that, Mr. McHenry worked as a metallurgist for Carpenter Technology Corporation where he gained experience with the production of specialty steels, such as magnetic alloys, alloys for electrical and electronics applications, controlled expansion alloys, tool steels, stainless steels, and high temperature alloys. While an undergraduate, Mr. McHenry worked as a co-operative education student in the research and development and premium melting facilities of Carpenter Technology Corporation.

Mr. McHenry is a graduate of The George Washington University Law School (J.D., with honors, 2007). He received a Bachelor of Science degree in materials science & engineering from The Pennsylvania State University in 1998.

Mr. McHenry is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the District of Columbia and Virginia.
