Lawyer Overview

John Anderson is a senior associate in the firm's Securities Department, and a member of the Securities Litigation and Enforcement Practice Group. He joined the firm in 2007. Mr. Anderson's practice focuses on securities enforcement.

Practice

Mr. Anderson has represented clients in securities enforcement matters, including in relation to SEC, DOJ and NASD investigations and proceedings. He also has experience with all aspects of general commercial litigation and has represented clients in civil and criminal matters involving employment disputes, tax evasion, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Clean Water Act, and Mail Fraud/RICO criminal prosecutions.

As part of his pro bono practice, Mr. Anderson has participated in a civil rights class action against the State of Louisiana for failure to provide adequate criminal defense for indigents. He has also contributed to multiple briefs in support of habeas corpus petitions on behalf of detainees held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Professional Activities

Mr. Anderson is an adjunct professor at American University Washington College of Law. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Young Lawyers Section of the Bar Association of the District of Columbia, and is a member of the Host Committee for the 2008 ABA Young Lawyers Division Spring Conference in Washington, DC.
