Philosophy

Our mission is to be the preeminent trial firm in central and eastern Virginia, and to always provide the highest level of service to our clients. We achieve this through aggressive and compassionate representation, and, above all else, our recognized expertise in the courtroom. In reaching this goal, our core value is to resolve conflicts in a way that restores our client’s dignity and self respect, while fulfilling our uncompromising commitment to personal attention.

Our Expertise

Prior to founding Bucci & Dix, both Mr. Bucci and Mr. Dix were partners at a downtown Richmond law firm and specialized in defending complex and catastrophic personal injury cases. They represented large corporations, insurance companies, and other clients as defendants in a wide variety of personal injury and commercial matters. For example, Mr. Bucci previously represented Wal-Mart in its personal injury litigation in state and federal courts throughout Virginia. Mr. Dix previously represented all but one of the major tobacco companies in the United States, and the District of Columbia and its government officials in personal injury, labor and employment, and civil rights claims.

We believe this experience has helped us to gain a unique understanding of the strategies and methods employed by defendants and insurance companies. We seek to use this knowledge to better represent individuals injured or damaged at the hands of others.

Both Mr. Bucci & Mr. Dix have extensive experience in trying cases. They have tried cases in numerous state and federal courts throughout Virginia and Washington, D.C. They have also litigated over one hundred cases in federal court, a jurisdiction where many cases against corporate defendants must be litigated. They have tried cases in both the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia. They have also appeared three times before the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, winning every argument.

One of the missions of Bucci & Dix is to “restore our client’s dignity and self respect, while fulfilling our uncompromising commitment to personal attention.” This is a commitment to our clients to treat them as individuals and afford them the self respect they deserve. It is a promise to do everything in our power to restore our client’s dignity, and to be a partner in their case as we do so.

Mr. Bucci and Mr. Dix actively investigate and prosecute their cases. Many other personal injury firms primarily rely on paralegals, investigators, or other staff to perform the bulk of a case’s “work up.” A client may have an initial meeting with an attorney, but the day to day investigation and preparation is performed by the firm’s staff, not the lawyer.

We take a different approach. Our attorneys take an active role from the outset. From the initial meeting through trial, Mr. Bucci and Mr. Dix are involved in each step of the process. Through our actions, you will know that your concerns are our concerns, your goals are our goals, and your case is our case. This is our uncompromising commitment to personal attention.

Our Approach

Our approach to preparing and trying cases is both creative and forceful. We appreciate the uniqueness of every client’s situation, and recognize that different cases require different strategies. We employ a results-oriented approach which leaves no stone unturned and no theory of recovery unexplored.

Moreover, we are assertive, forceful, and are unafraid to take a case to trial. We are trial attorneys, not litigators. Many lawyers litigate cases with the goal of settling the case short of trial. We relish the courtroom. We became trial attorneys because we enjoy standing before judges and juries arguing our client’s cases. We meticulously prepare our client’s cases with the assumption that every case will be tried.
