Lawyer Overview
Dana Wu's practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity, foreign direct investment, and other types of cross-border transactions involving China. She advises multinational companies and financial investors on structuring proposed and existing investments and operations in China. She also has experience assisting U.S. companies on investigations and compliance relating to their China operation regarding FCPA and PRC anti-bribery law issues.
Dana works with clients in various industries including steel, machinery, automotive, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, shipping, consulting, and financial services. She represented a large European company in forming a joint venture with a major PRC state-owned company. Other recent respective matters include assisting a leading multinational corporation in acquiring a majority stake of a listed state-owned steel manufacturer and conducting investigations for a publicly listed corporation with respect to FCPA and PRC anti-bribery law compliance.
Before joining Jones Day, Dana worked in the United States District Court, Southern District of New York as a judicial intern for Magistrate Judge Theodore H. Katz. Prior to that, she worked in a well-known PRC law firm that has a leading capital market, project finance, and global M&A practice.
Dana is fluent in English and Cantonese and is a native speaker of Mandarin Chinese.
