Lawyer Overview

Eric Baim provides health care legal and regulatory counseling to a wide variety of clients in the health care field, including hospitals, practitioners, manufacturers of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, and durable medical equipment suppliers. His practice focuses on fraud and abuse and compliance matters and includes advising on anti-kickback, physician self-referral, and other federal and state health care laws and regulations. In addition, Eric assists clients in conducting internal audits and investigations and developing and implementing effective compliance policies and procedures. He also often advocates for clients who are facing civil and criminal investigations (including those arising out of qui tam complaints), audits, and administrative actions and investigations undertaken by the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Durable Medical Equipment contractors, and other fiscal intermediaries and carriers.

Eric has authored numerous articles and speaks regularly on compliance matters. Before joining Hogan & Hartson, Eric was in the heath care practice at another law firm in Washington, D.C.
