Mr. Burbach’s practice is focused on counseling broker-dealers, investment advisers, financial institutions and other business clients in corporate and securities regulatory and enforcement matters.

Mr. Burbach’s prior experience includes matters focusing on registration and compliance issues; particularly related to the Securities Act of 1933, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, and various SRO rules and state securities laws; counseling clients in connection with SRO, state agency and SEC enforcement matters, particularly related to sales practices and trading; assisting clients with SEC filings and SRO market and trading regulatory issues; directing clients in connection with the FINRA new member application process and broker-dealer registration issues; guiding investment adviser clients in entity registration with the SEC and state regulatory agencies, including the drafting of Form ADV and disclosure documents; advising banks regarding securities activities issues and compliance with Regulation R; and advising non-U.S. entities regarding compliance with FINRA rules, state laws and SEC rules related to registration and compliance.

Mr. Burbach worked as an intern for the Johnson County (KS) District Attorney and NASD, Inc. (now Financial Industry Regulatory Authority), and also has experience as a registered representative and registered investment adviser.
