Kristen Phinessee is a senior associate in the firm's Litigation/Controversy Department, and a member of the Investigations and Criminal Litigation Practice Group. She joined the firm in 2006.

Practice

Ms. Phinnessee’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation and government investigations. Ms. Phinnessee has experience representing companies in investigations before the US Department of Justice, the US Securities and Exchange Commission, the International Trade Commission and various state agencies. She has also represented a variety of clients in civil litigation matters involving contract disputes, patent infringement and securities laws.

On a pro bono basis, Ms. Phinnessee currently represents a United States legal permanent resident before the Federal Immigration Court in Los Angeles, CA.

 

Prior to beginning her legal studies, Ms. Phinnessee was an Americorps Community Safety Coordinator with the Richmond Main Street Initiative, Inc. in Richmond, California. She served as a liaison between police and the community development organization, supervised neighborhood improvement projects and monitored city performance in regard to the provision of essential services to the community.
