Laura Schmoyer is a senior associate in the Litigation/Controversy Department, and a member of the Investigations and Criminal Litigations Practice Group. She returned to the firm in 2008 after completing a clerkship for the Honorable Deborah K. Chasanow for the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. She originally joined the firm in 2006.

Practice

Ms. Schmoyer has a general litigation practice with experience in a variety of white collar criminal defense cases. She has represented clients in federal enforcement matters, civil litigation, internal corporate investigations, and congressional investigations. Recently, she has represented a large pharmaceutical corporation in parallel federal civil and criminal proceedings alleging health-care fraud, a medical device manufacturer in a grand jury investigation into violations of the Anti-Kickback Statute, and the board of directors of a national film and entertainment company in connection with parallel SEC and Justice Department investigations of options granting practices.
