Law Firm Overview

My first goal is to keep my clients out of jail.  The second goal is to reduce felonies to misdemeanors or to litigate them for acquitals.  I am a member of the Utah and California Bar.  I practiced in Northern California from 1996 to 2000.  I was admitted to the Utah State Bar in 1977.  I have practiced in Utah for the past 31 years except for the time I spent in California.  I received my B.A. from BYU.  I received an MBA from the University of Utah and my law degree from Golden Gate University in San Francisco in 1977.  About 90% of my practice is criminal law throughout the State of Utah.  Every defendant is entitled to be represented by a lawyer if for no other reason than the government is not fair.  State posecutors and DA's almost always charge defendants more than they can prove.  If the defendant is not aware of how the system works, he may plead to charges that the state cannot prove.

I have always made sure that my clients are aware of all of the procedures from beginning to end.  I explain all of the options for resolving the case including a jury trial.  I will offer my opinion about how to resolve the case but my clients always have the final say.
