Irina Skidan concentrates on capital markets, M&A, and other cross-border transactions involving Russia. She has over 15 years of experience in a wide range of transactional matters and has been the senior U.S. counsel on numerous transactions involving European, Asian, and Latin American parties. Irina has represented investment banks and U.S. domestic and foreign issuers, including Banco do Brasil S.A., Banco Itau S.A., and Sumitomo Bank International Finance N.V., in domestic offerings of debt and equity and in global offerings of medium-term and securitized notes. She has worked on sovereign debt offerings by the Republic of Finland as well as the first sovereign debt offering by the Republic of Ecuador. Most recently Irina advised Alfa Group on a $150 million secured facility from CSFB and Sukhoi Civil Aircraft in connection with its Russian Regional Jet project.

Before joining Jones Day, Irina worked in Linklaters' New York office, where she was involved in such projects as acquisition by Deutsche Postbank AG of all BHF Bank AG financial subsidiaries, sale by Vivendi Universal S.A. of its entire share in French American Cellular Investment Corp., and debis AirFrance B.V.'s cash tender offer for acquisition of the entire issued share capital of AerFi Group plc. Irina also advised LUKOIL on financing of Vysotsk oil products terminal construction on the Gulf of Finland, Schleifring und Apparatebau GmbH on formation of a joint venture with GE Medical Systems, and Axel Springer Polska Sp. z.o.o. on license agreements with Newsweek, Inc.
