Dr. Wolfgang Reichl is a German and European patent attorney as well as an European trademark attorney.

Dr. Reichl graduated from the Technical University of Munich with degrees in electrical engineering and information technology. From 1996 until the end of 1999 he was with Bell Labs/Lucent Technologies in New Jersey, USA, where he was involved in research activities in the multimedia communications lab, particularly in the fields of speech recognition and speech understanding. Dr. Reichl also took an active part in the development of advanced telecom applications, such as call centers, distributed wireless multimedia applications, and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephony.

From 2000 until 2003, Dr. Reichl studied at the University of Hagen, whereupon he successfully passed the German patent attorney examination in June 2003 as well as the European qualification exam in March 2004. Before joining Jones Day in 2005 he worked as an associate at Beetz & Partner in Munich where he focused on patent prosecution in the areas of wireless networking, software-based inventions, and automobile engineering as well as on trademark applications.

Currently, Dr. Reichl practices in patent prosecution in the areas of telecommunications, computer science, software-based inventions, and opposition procedures. He is actively involved in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, opposition, and appeal work before the German Patent and Trademark Office and the European Patent Office.
