Lawyer Overview

Hollis's practice focuses on labor and employment litigation. She has represented employers in a broad range of litigation matters, including lawsuits involving Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Older Workers Benefit Protection Act, the California Family Rights Act, the Fair Employment and Housing Act, and the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act. Her cases have included claims of wage and hour violations, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, failure to accommodate, hostile work environment, fraud, and wage suppression. Hollis has defended employers in grievance and arbitration matters, single plaintiff cases, class action litigation, union organizing campaigns, and before the Department of Labor and National Labor Relations Board.

Prior to practicing law, Hollis worked as a counselor for the Department of Defense at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. She is licensed as a national certified counselor (NCC). While in North Carolina, Hollis served as a volunteer guardian ad litem in the 4th Judicial District. Her pro bono activities include service as a court appointed special advocate (CASA) for abused and neglected children and acting as a supervisory attorney for the George Mason University School of Law Clinic for Legal Assistance to Servicemembers, which provides free legal representation to enlisted members of the United States armed services.

Hollis is author of "In Search of the Best Interests of the Child: The Efficacy of the Court Appointed Special Advocate Model of Guardian Ad Litem Representation," 13 Geo. Mason L. Rev. 1083 (2006).
