Lawyer Overview

Heinz-Günter Laun's practice focuses on the regulatory aspect of capital market law. He advises national and international clients with the Securities Trading Act (Wertpapierhandelsgesetz; WPHG), the Stock Exchange Act (Börsengesetz), the Banking Act (Kreditwesengesetz; KWG), and the Act Governing Sales Prospectuses for Securities (Wertpapiersprospektgesetz). Before joining Jones Day in 2005, Heinz-Günter gained extensive experience in bank and capital market law, particularly the aspects of institutional funds. His prior experience includes working as the authorized representative of a securities trading broker. He was also the managing director of the Board of the Brokers Association (Kursmaklerkammer) of Frankfurt am Main and headed the legal supervision over the Frankfurt Stock Markets of the Hessian Ministry for Economics, Traffic, and Land Development (Hessisches Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Verkehr und Landesentwicklung). In addition, he worked at an international consultancy, where he was responsible for the issues related to stock exchange law and how it related to the establishment of the German futures and options exchange (EUREX).
