Lawyer Overview

Lara Kollios focuses on complex civil litigation, working on a broad range of matters including unfair competition, international human rights, antitrust, torts, and insurance recovery. She has extensive knowledge in all aspects of fact and expert discovery, managing and coordinating offensive and defensive strategies. Lara has experience at every level of litigation, from responding to complaints, motion practice, and summary judgment and through to trial. Most recently, Lara was part of the trial team that led Chevron to a full defense jury verdict on human rights and tort claims, which was ranked as the top California defense verdict in 2008 by the Daily Journal.

Lara has particular experience with international clients, working with clients from countries such as Nigeria, China, and Japan. She coauthored an article that provides tips for preparing foreign clients for depositions, published in the Daily Journal (2009).

Lara is active in the legal community, serving as chair of the Litigation Section for the San Francisco Bar Association Barrister's Club. She is also committed to her pro bono practice, focusing on the protection of prisoners' rights in California and more recently, working with The Nature Conservancy on carbon sequestration policy in California.
