Lawyer Overview
Alan Jih's practice encompasses a wide range of corporate, banking, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and civil litigation matters. He has extensive experience advising local and foreign companies on corporate finance, intellectual property, labor and employment, antitrust, and corporate governance and advising local and foreign banks on asset management, financial derivatives, commercial credit facilities, and regulatory compliance.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Alan served as a judge advocate at the Chung-shen Institute of Science and Technology where he handled high-tech and government legal issues in litigation, arbitration, and civil reconciliation settings. He also has substantial experience advising clients in a variety of cross-border transactions, including foreign investment approval, nonperforming loan acquisition, and mergers and acquisitions. He participated in the first share swap deal between a Taiwan-listed company and a foreign public company, advised financial institutions in takeover battles, and pioneered the adoption of the straight voting system.
Alan is a member of Taipei Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.
