Lawyer Overview

Friederike Göbbels advises on all legal questions and matters pertaining to German labor law. She has worked with clients nationally and internationally, especially human resources managers and executives, on their day-to-day employment law matters, the scientific management of labor issues relating to business transactions, the ongoing servicing of employee relations, and disputes with employee representation bodies. She regularly represents companies in formal proceedings such as court procedure, authority procedure, and other specially ruled procedures. This includes support and representation services relating to the negotiation of reconciliation of interests or social plans with the works council in connection with restructuring measures. In addition to maintaining a strong relationship with clients' human resources personnel, Friederike focuses on supporting deals such as the sale, purchase, or merger of companies and on restructuring measures such as the shutdown or merger of operations and outsourcing procedures.

Friederike began her career as an attorney directly after her education at a large, internationally active German law firm of which she became a partner in 1999. In 2004 she became head of the labor & employment practice at her former firm.

Friederike is author of several publications on labor and employment law. She most recently published a guidebook of practical solutions in connection with the creation of an employment agreement. The book is geared primarily towards human resources managers and chief executives and offers helpful tips and draft clauses for constructing employment contracts in Germany.
