Peter Davids has briefed numerous civil and criminal appeals before federal and state appellate courts and has argued cases before the Ninth Circuit and the California Court of Appeal. He also has written briefs at the trial court level resulting in among other wins the dismissal on summary judgment of a $5 billion Medicaid fraud action brought under the federal False Claims Act.

Most recently, Peter wrote the winning trial court briefs in an action concerning the interpretation of California Civil Code section 2941, which regulates the process for preparing and recording reconveyances of deeds of trust after borrowers pay off secured loans. This defense judgment eliminated potential exposure for the client of some $375 million in statutory forfeitures. After the victory in the trial court, Peter successfully defended the judgment on appeal, drafting the briefs and arguing the case before the California Court of Appeal.

Peter also maintains an active pro bono practice, having represented immigration clients in administrative review proceedings before the Ninth Circuit, as well as representing prisoners in habeas corpus appeals before federal and state courts of appeal.
