Lawyer Overview
Kelli Kiernan has experience in a broad range of complex commercial litigation matters, including in the areas of antitrust, contractual disputes, products liability, business torts, intellectual property litigation, insurance coverage disputes, and white-collar criminal defense. Kelli's experience covers all stages of litigation in state and federal courts, including all aspects of discovery and law and motion practice.
Kelli recently helped obtain dismissal of Chevron in a purported class action lawsuit alleging price gouging following Hurricane Katrina. She also successfully moved for limited intervention in ongoing patent litigation on behalf of Texas Instruments and subsequently successfully obtained a protective order against discovery of highly sensitive proprietary client information. In addition, Kelli has experience in appellate matters, most recently helping secure a unanimous victory before the United States Supreme Court in Boulware v. United States (U.S. March 3, 2008). Kelli was a member of the trial team that obtained a defense verdict in a five-week jury trial in a high-profile Alien Tort Statute case in San Francisco federal court that was recognized as the "California Defense Verdict of 2008" by the Daily Journal.
Kelli is active in the pro bono community as well and recently obtained permanent civil harassment and domestic violence restraining orders on behalf of an indigent domestic violence victim.
