Dr. Ulrich Amelung's practice focuses on matters of contract law, press law, copyright and intellectual property law, in which areas he both advises clients and represents them in court. Among his clients are various publishing houses, film production companies, internet companies as well as artists, actors and directors.

Mr. Amelung studied law at the University of Regensburg and the University of Paris X (France). In 1998, he took the degree of Magister Juris in European and Comparative Law from the University of Oxford (Great Britain). For his comparative thesis on privacy laws in Germany, England and the USA he was awarded a Ph.D. (summa cum laude) by the University of Regensburg. Mr. Amelung then served as a judicial clerk and passed his Second State Exam in Law within the jurisdiction of the Higher Regional Court of Hamburg.

Mr. Amelung has published several articles both in English and German on the topics of personality rights and the protection of privacy. Mr. Amelung is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property and the British-German Jurists’ Association.
