Joanne Du advises inbound and outbound clients regarding direct investment, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, liquidations, antitrust issues, and other general corporate matters. During her six years of practice in both domestic and international law firms, she has gained experience advising clients (including international oil companies and Chinese NOCs) on tender documents, due diligence, overseas investment assessments, compliance reviews, sale and purchase agreements, industry operating agreements, intellectual property protections, joint venture and wholly foreign-owned enterprise formations, and associated PRC legal considerations.

Recently, Joanne represented and advised:

• a Singaporean company and a U.K. company in separate acquisitions of coal bed methane projects in eight provinces in China

• a consortium of Chinese national oil companies in an acquisition of oil and gas assets in South America

• a U.K. company in an acquisition of two wind farm projects in Inner Mongolia

• a U.S. independent energy company in the acquisition of interests in the Bohai Bay in northeastern China

• a multilateral finance institution in a project finance in private sectors

• a Canadian company in its investment and distribution of fine oil products in China and

• a Japanese company in investment and compliance of petroleum chemical projects in China.
