Lawyer Overview

Jake Downs is an attorney in the Seattle office. His practice focuses on business and commercial litigation, employment law, real estate litigation, transportation law, and product liability defense. As trial counsel, Mr. Downs has represented many Northwest businesses in both state and federal court as well as in private arbitration. Recently, Mr. Downs obtained unanimous jury verdicts in his clients' favor in two separate commercial business suits tried in Washington State Superior Court involving breaches of contract, trade secrets, and tortious interference. Mr. Downs was a summer associate with Williams Kastner, and he also externed in the chambers of the Honorable Thomas S. Zilly, U.S. District Court, Western District of Washington.

Prior to his law career, Mr. Downs served as a Captain in the United States Army during which time he deployed to Iraq, Kuwait, Macedonia, and Kosovo. He is a recipient of the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Ranger Tab, and Combat Infantryman's Badge.
