Lawyer Overview
Hannah Breshin-Otero represents employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, including class action and multiplaintiff employment discrimination lawsuits, state law overtime class actions, FLSA collective actions, and arbitrating employee and union grievances.
Hannah counsels employers on a broad range of personnel issues such as reductions in force, implementation of employment policies, negotiation of employment and separation agreements, internal investigations of employee complaints, and diversity best practices. Hannah conducts on-site workplace training and has experience advising government contractors regarding their obligations under Executive Order 11246.
Hannah has experience handling issues arising under the National Labor Relations Act and Railway Labor Act, including unfair labor practice charges, collective bargaining, and labor issues arising from the bankruptcy of unionized employers.
Hannah has been a regional deputy president for the Hispanic National Bar Association since 2008. She was named a "Rising Legal Star" by the Hispanic Bar Association of the District of Columbia in 2006. She is a member of the Labor and Employment Sections for the American Bar Association and the District of Columbia Bar, the HNBA, and HBA-DC. Hannah also maintains an active pro bono practice. She provides employment counseling to local nonprofit organizations and has represented asylum applicants before the U.S. Immigration Court.
