Lawyer Overview

Ryan was born in Springfield, Illinois on November 22, 1978 and moved to Olathe, Kansas shortly thereafter.  He has been a lifelong resident of Olathe.  Ryan graduated from Olathe South High School in 1997, and then attended Kansas State University where he graduated in 2001.  Ryan then attended law school at the University of Missouri at Kansas City and received his J.D. in 2004.

In law school, Ryan was very active in Trial Advocacy and selected for the Advanced Trial Advocacy class his final year.  Ryan was also worked for The Innocence Project his third year of law school.  Ryan was selected to be one of five class represenatives all three years of law school.

While in Law School, Ryan was a clerk at Trey's office.  Trey was immediately impressed with Ryan's hard work, his compassion for his clients, his integrity and the pride that he takes in his work.  Assistant DA's were impressed too, and Ryan was offered a highly-coveted position as an intern with the Johnson County District Attorney's Office.  After completing his internship with the District Attorneys Office, Trey offered him a job as an Associate.  Since then Ryan has gained extensive experience through being in court virtually five days a week representing clients in important cases.

Ryan has a great deal of trial experience defending people charged with DUI and DWI in both Kansas and Missouri.  Because he defends these cases about 5 days a week, he keeps up with the constant changes in the criminal law and the administrative law for DUI's and DWI's.  He has experience in trials to a court or to a jury.

Ryan also defends adults and juveniles charged with  battery, domestic battery, assault, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, arson, rape, internet solicitation, indecent liberties, possession of drugs (cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana), sale of drugs, theft, forgery, criminal threat and other serious felonies and misdemeanors in State and Municipal Court.  Ryan has developed a loyal client base and most of his referrals are from past clients who were happy with the results in their own cases.

In addition to his criminal defense practice, Ryan currently serves as the City Prosecutor in Edgerton, Kansas.  Ryan gives monthly lectures on juvenile law in Kansas.  Ryan is a member of the Johnson County Bar Association and a Sustaining Member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association.

Ryan is married to Stacy Ginie and has two beautiful daughters, Isabella and Elena.  In his free time, Ryan likes to go hiking, camping, running, and traveling to the beach with his family.  Ryan and Stacy have recently ran in the Chicago Marathon and hiked to the summit of of Long's Peak.  They are currently training for a triathlon.
