Law Firm Overview

Marianne Dugan's office is in downtown Eugene, in the historic Granary Building, across from Fifth Street Public Market.

Ms. Dugan graduated from the University of Oregon Law School in 1993, fifth in her class, with certificates in Environmental Law and Ocean and Coastal Law. She also holds a master's degree in environmental studies.

Her practice includes federal environmental law, police misconduct, employment rights, property disputes (with a focus on easements and boundary disputes rather than property sale transactions or construction defects), and professional malpractice.

From 1993 to 1999 she worked for the Western Environmental Law Center as its first staff attorney and then as associate director.  Ms. Dugan serves on the boards of the Civil Liberties Defense Center; Friends of Land-Air-Water; Portia Project, and the Western Lands Project; as well as the Sierra Club's national litigation committee. She also is the Eugene Chapter contact for the National Lawyers Guild and serves on the publications committee of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association.

Ms. Dugan is licensed to practice law in all Oregon courts, as well as the U.S. Supreme Court and several other federal courts.  She does not handle state law matters anywhere but Oregon and cannot give advice regarding the law of other states.  She will occasionally evaluate some federal cases outside of Oregon, where local counsel is retained and special "pro hac vice" procedures are established.
