Lawyer Overview

Ayesha T. Washington was born in Charleston, South Carolina. She is a graduate of Clemson University (B.A., 1998) and the University of South Carolina School of Law (J.D., 2002). While in law school, she was the President of Black Law Students Association, an Articles Editor for the Southeastern Environmental Law Journal, and a member of Phi Delta Phi, and Women in Law. Ms. Washington was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2002, and the United States District Court, District of South Carolina in 2005. She is a member of the Thurgood Marshall Society, Charleston County Bar Association, South Carolina Women Lawyers Association (Board Member), and the American Bar Association. Her areas of practice include general negligence, personal injury, train grade crossing collisions, product liability, toxic torts, probate, insurance law, and real estate closings.

She is active within her community, currently serving as an advisory board member of the It's Up to Me! Grant Program, sponsored by The Citadel, and a mentor for the Young Ladies Conquering Obstacles program.
