Law Firm Overview

The Revelation Law Firm is a plaintiff-side law firm located in downtown Berkeley, California. Our primary practice areas include Civil Rights, Employment Law, Personal Injury, and a consiousness-raising approach to anti-harassment training, mediation services, and individual workshops. We take a client-centered approach to legal services, keeping clients fully informed about their cases and collaborating with each client to meet their goals as expeditiously as possible.

We represent both individual and non-profit organization clients in the Bay Area,
California. The goal of our practice is to safeguard people's civil rights and liberties and
to help individuals gain compensation for personal injury violations. We apply rigorous
energy and resourcefulness to every project we accept and our members are dedicated to your success. We are also able to offer mediation, negotiation, and other collaborative services to help you solve your dispute without going to court.

Our Office provides flexible fee arrangements depending on income and available funds.

HOURLY FEE ARRANGEMENTS

Hourly fees are based on a sliding scale: from as low as $100.00 an hour to $175.00 an hour depending on the task. We bill community-oriented non-profit organizations at a special rate of $75.00 per hour. Although this still seems like a lot of money, it is important to realize that many tasks take less than an hour and all are billed in tenths of an hour (i.e., .10). We can also arrange refundable and non-refundable retainers ranging from $500 to $5000, and can accommodate clients who need to pay in installments. In addition to cash, cashier's checks, and money orders, our Office also accepts payment via credit Cards and Paypal.

CONTINGENCY FEE ARRANGEMENTS

Contingency fee arrangements are also available. Contingency means that the firm takes a percentage of a client's settlement or damages award at the end of the case, generally ranging from 25% to 40%. In these types of arrangements, the firm will
get paid only if we win your case.

ANTI-HARASSMENT & SENSITIVITY TRAINING FOR EMPLOYERS

The Revelation Law Firm offers interactive, educational trainings for employers wanting to take preventive action against harassment and discrimination lawsuits with regard to race and gender from their employees. Trainings include information regarding the legal aspects of these dynamics in the workplace, and offer a consciousness component that requires active participation in learning about how discrimination and harassment take place--and how these can be prevented--using our knowledge about oppression in a transformative way.

MEDIATION SERVICES FOR EMPLOYERS, EMPLOYEES, AND OTHER INDIVIDUALS

Our office also offers mediation services for all types of situations, including harassment and discrimination claims, landlord-tenant issues, marital dissolutions, and same-sex dissolutions. Our mediation services are affordable and effective because of our collaborative and attentive approach to getting to the root of the problem and seeing as many sides of the situation as possible while finding a resolution that works for all parties involved.

SELF-EMPOWERMENT WORKSHOPS FOR EMPLOYEES

Our office currently sponsors the following workshops for employees/civil rights plaintiffs: Plaintiffs' Introduction to Re-evaluation Co-counseling (RC), Free; Plaintiffs' Introduction to Transformational Theater, Free; Get Healed Weekend Workshops, (Sliding Scale Depending On Income).

OVERFLOW WORK FOR BUSY ATTORNEYS

The Revelation Law Firm also provides overflow work services for busy attorneys. We draft pleadings, motions, discovery, meet and confer letters, motions/oppositions re summary judgment, and can prepare your deposition summaries. We accept credits
cards, Paypal, and checks as appropriate payment for each project.
