Lawyer Overview

Kerstin has experience in a variety of general litigation matters in state and federal courts. Her practice includes representing clients in contract disputes, state tax appeals, and appeals of adverse administrative decisions and defending against public nuisance and product liability claims. She has experience with all stages and aspects of litigation, including discovery, dispositive motions, motions in limine including Daubert motions, and coordination of expert discovery and complex document and written discovery. She also has taken and defended the depositions of numerous fact and expert witnesses, examined witnesses in a jury trial, and argued before the Ohio Tenth District Court of Appeals.

Kerstin is very committed to pro bono and has represented indigent clients on matters ranging from eviction proceedings to charges of unauthorized practice of law. In 2008, she was a member of the trial team that tried to jury verdict a pro bono fair housing act and discrimination matter in the Southern District of Ohio in which the trial team won a $10.9 million verdict for 67 residents of a predominantly African-American neighborhood. Kerstin also served for two years as chair of the Pro Bono Committee for the Columbus Bar Association where she aided in creating the first annual pro bono report for the association and provided support for ongoing pro bono projects and for volunteer attorneys.
