Lawyer Overview

Kelly Carrero's practice is concentrated on securities, derivatives, and other financial products litigation. She works extensively on class action litigation as it relates to the federal securities laws. In commercial litigation involving derivatives, Kelly has represented plaintiffs and defendants in claims regarding ISDA swap agreements, including credit default swaps and commodity swaps. Kelly also has defended clients before federal prosecutive and regulatory agencies in connection with investigations involving allegations such as improper accounting and insider trading. In addition, she advises clients on prelitigation matters, including disputes concerning swaps and other derivative instruments.

Kelly also is active with pro bono matters and currently has a petition for review pending before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in Jean Bosco Ndayshimiye, et al. v. Att'y Gen., No. 07-3201.

Kelly is a member of the bars of the State of New York and the District of Columbia, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits, and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the Derivatives & Structured Products Subcommittee of the New York State Bar Association.

Prior to practicing law, Kelly was a NASD Series 7 registered representative and worked in the fixed income, currency & commodities division at Goldman Sachs.
