Lawyer Overview

Ashlie Case practices in the area of civil and commercial litigation with a focus on products liability. Her experience covers all aspects of briefing and motion practice; offensive, defensive, and third-party discovery including the evaluation, development, and preparation of expert witnesses for trial; handling evidentiary and privilege issues; and managing relationships among joint defense teams and with local counsel. She is part of the Firm's team representing R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation in smoking and health litigation in state and federal courts.

Ashlie also has experience in intellectual property matters including service mark dilution, trademark infringement, unfair competition, trade secrets, and restrictive covenant litigation. She has advised clients on restrictive covenants for executive-level employees and on United States and international copyright matters including licensing issues.

While in law school, she represented inmates seeking damages for harm caused by the denial of adequate medical treatment and sexual abuse at the hands of federal prison guards. She is the author of "Conflicting Feminisms and the Rights of Women Prisoners," 17 Yale J.L. Feminism 309 (2005).

Ashlie is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association.
