She received her Bachelor of Arts in 1988 in Economics from Chapman University. She has extensive legal experience as a practicing family law attorney and an additional five years as a legal secretary prior to her admission to the California State Bar. She is a recipient of the Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono legal services from the State Bar.
