Matt is a member of the State Bar of South Dakota, the American Bar Association, and the Second Circuit Bar Association. He is also a member of the Sioux Falls Estate Planning Council.

Matt serves on the Audit Committee for Volunteers of America Dakotas and is a classroom volunteer for Junior Achievement of South Dakota. He formerly served on the board of directors of Youth Enrichment Services. Matt is a graduate of the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Sioux Falls class.
