Bronwen Blass is a counsel in the firm's Litigation/Controversy Department, and a member of the Business Trial Group. She joined the firm in 2004.

Practice

Ms. Blass has a general litigation practice with experience in civil litigation, internal corporate investigations and government enforcement matters. She has participated in trial-level and appellate litigation in both state and federal courts, taking part in discovery, motions practice and trial preparation. She has also represented individuals in immigration matters before United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, including survivors of domestic violence self-petitioning under the Violence Against Women Act. While attending Boalt Hall, Ms. Blass was active on the Berkeley Women's Law Journal and pursued interests in feminist jurisprudence, family law and education law.

Honors and Awards

Ms. Blass is a recipient of the firm's Pickering fellowship in Washington, DC, established in honor of John H. Pickering. As a Pickering fellow, she spent six months practicing landlord and tenant law at Legal Counsel for the Elderly, the primary provider of free legal services and advocacy for older people in the District of Columbia. While at LCE, Ms. Blass counseled and represented clients in hearings and mediations before the DC Superior Court Civil and Landlord and Tenant Divisions, as well as before the Office of Administrative Hearings. Her work was recently recognized in the Fall 2008 issue of Pro Bono Publico.

Professional Activities

Ms. Blass is a member of the Women's Bar Association of the District of Columbia as well as the American Constitution Society, the Maryland State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
