Lawyer Overview

Yael Aufgang has represented and counseled clients in a broad range of complex commercial litigation matters, including antitrust and ERISA litigation and contract and real estate disputes, as well as in government investigations and white-collar defense. Her experience covers arbitration, mediation, and the various stages of litigation in state and federal courts, including all aspects of discovery and motion practice.

Yael also has represented pro bono clients in educational proceedings and civil rights suits, and through her work with the New England Innocence Project, she has represented wrongfully convicted individuals in post-conviction cases. In February 2008, the Boston College Third World Law Journal published an article that Yael coauthored entitled "Beyond Monetary Compensation: The Need for Comprehensive Services for the Wrongfully Convicted."

Prior to joining Jones Day, Yael was a litigation associate at Goodwin Procter in Boston. Before attending law school, she taught public school in the Bronx as a Teach For America corps member.
