Lawyer Overview

Michael Aklufi's practice focuses on corporate finance, as well as general securities and corporate matters. He represents investment banks, commercial banks, and corporations in public and private offerings of debt and equity securities (including high-yield, investment grade, secured, and unsecured bonds; common stock; and preferred stock), bank financings, exchange offers, tender offers, and consent solicitations. Michael also has extensive experience advising public and private companies and boards of directors regarding corporate governance matters, including the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, SEC disclosure requirements, periodic filings, and the preparation of universal shelf registration statements.

Prior to joining Jones Day, Michael practiced at Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP in New York.
