Dan W. Kehr, Esq.

San Diego business lawyer Dan W. Kehr possesses broad and substantial experience in nearly every area of business, corporate, contract, intellectual property, tax and real estate law matters.  Well versed in business law, tax law, real estate law, and estate planning.  Mr. Kehr is proficient in handling both corporate and personal legal needs in one office.  Focusing and developing his experience in business and corporate law, Mr. Kehr has become an irreplaceable asset to the entrepreneurs, businesses and large corporations Kehr Law represents.  Mr. Kehr represents numerous clients ranging from simple start-up ventures and emerging companies, to large corporations with up to 5,000 employees as well as entities restructuring their business operations to gain greater tax advantaged structures.  Counseling clients through various business and contract law matters throughout his legal career, Mr. Kehr has cultivated extensive experience in complex business, estate and real estate transactional matters as well as in disputes, collection matters and lawsuits.

Mr. Kehr’s business and corporate practice includes the representation, organization and maintenance of foreign and domestic businesses as well as the representation of clients in both large and small corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions.  Mr. Kehr’s corporate experience not only includes the organization and maintenance of corporate entities as well as franchises, but also the preparation of a wide variety of complex business contracts.  He frequently handles acquisition and merger agreements; shareholder and buy-sell agreements; real estate investment transactions, agreements and disputes; distribution agreements; stock option agreements, employment agreements; trademark and copyright matters; and intellectual property licensing agreements.

Mr. Kehr is an Attorney, a Licensed California Real Estate Broker, a published author, and an entrepreneur himself starting his first business at the age of eight. His most recent publications include a technology article “Stepping up to Tech” found in San Diego Lawyer Magazine’s March/April edition and an article “Small Firms, Big Impact” found in the San Diego Lawyer Magazine’s September/October 2010 edition.

Mr. Kehr’s team is also the 2010 and 2011 champions of the San Diego County Bar Association’s Annual Golf Tournament.

Mr. Kehr grew up in Huntington Beach, California before attending and receiving his Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).  As a NCAA intercollegiate baseball athlete, Mr. Kehr was honored with 11 awards for academic achievement as a student athlete. Mr. Kehr earned his Juris Doctor Degree from California Western School of Law.

Mr. Kehr is the Chairman of the San Diego County Bar Association’s Law Practice Management and Marketing Section. He was the Chairman for 2010 and was re-elected as Chairman for 2011.

Shanna Welsh, Esq.

Ms. Welsh is an attorney practicing Landlord/Tenant law at Kehr Law. She is a member of the State Bar of California, and the San Diego County Bar Association. Ms. Welsh is a licensed real estate broker and a member of the San Diego Association of Realtors, the California Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors. Recently, Ms. Welsh has participated in many HOME Clinics around San Diego County, specifically those taking place in downtown, Escondido, and Camp Pendleton. The clinics are sponsored by the Housing Opportunities Collaborative, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and attorneys who participate are called upon to consult with homeowners who are threatened by foreclosure, or whose homes are already in foreclosure.

Ms. Welsh achieved skills to assist clients with litigation matters during law school, working as a file clerk and law clerk for Federal Multi- District Litigation and class action attorneys at the San Diego office of Buchanan Ingersoll, LLP. Also during law school, Ms. Welsh spent a semester in Washington, DC, doing an internship at the Federal Communications Commission, where she learned about administrative and communications law, while soaking in the political environment of our nation's capital.

Ms. Welsh holds the degree of Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law in San Diego, California. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in both Anthropology and Jazz Music. During college she worked as a professional jazz and pop musician, and taught private saxophone lessons. She was encouraged by her music teacher, Dr. Nathan Davis, Ph.D., to pursue a career in law because of the leadership that she exhibited in the Pitt Jazz Ensemble. She graduated with honors from North Allegheny Senior High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  In her spare time, Ms. Welsh enjoys surfing, indoor sport climbing, and jogging.

Ruth Ryan-Cruz

Ruth Ryan-Cruz is a post-graduate legal clerk at Kehr Law. Although Ms. Ryan’s principal interest is in business and corporate law, Ms. Ryan has immersed herself throughout different student organizations and associations including the San Diego County Bar Association to expand her familiarity with different areas of law. Ms. Ryan obtained previous legal experience from a business and corporate law firm located in Orange County, California.

While completing her High School education, Ms. Ryan developed herself as an independent web designer by customizing, developing, and maintaining web sites for local San Diego businesses in various industries. Throughout her undergraduate studies Ms. Ryan worked at two local companies ultimately reaching management roles furthering her understanding of business operations. Licensed by the California Department of Insurance, Ms. Ryan  moved on to assist a new insurance agent develop his book of business and focused primarily on marketing, information systems, and commercial accounts counseling business owners by helping them customize unique insurance coverage plans for their business needs. By working closely with business owners throughout the years, Ms. Ryan expanded her business knowledge.

Ms. Ryan earned her Juris Doctor Degree from California Western School of Law and received a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration.

Ms. Ryan speaks fluent Spanish.

April Luttrell

April Luttrell is a Legal Assistant to owner Dan W. Kehr, Esq. Ms. Luttrell joined Kehr Law in July of 2010. Prior to her employment with Kehr Law she worked in the Real Estate field as a mortgage loan processor. She holds an Associates of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and will begin the Paralegal Certification program in August of 2011. Ms. Luttrell has experience in the fields of business law, real estate transaction, administration, and customer service.

Veronica Jimenez

Veronica Jimenez joined Kehr Law as a Paralegal. Ms. Jimenez is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego's accelerated paralegal program, class of 2007. Ms. Jimenez received her undergraduate degree and majored in Jazz Guitar at California State University, Long Beach.

Prior to joinging the team at Kehr Law, Ms. Jimenez worked as a paralegal in the areas of insurances defense litigation, bankruptcy, probate, real estate, property management, and business law.
