Arnold is a native to the Salt Lake City area. He graduated from the University of Utah in 1972 with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and was inducted iiinto Phi Beta Kappa. He attended the University of Utah Law School and earned his J.D. degree in 1976. He was admitted to the Utah State Bar in 1977. He is married and has two college age daughters. He enjoys sailing on the Great Salt Lake in his Hunter 240. He also ejoys exploring his Scottish heritage traveling to Scotland when he can, and enjoying Single Malt Scotch when he can't.
