Melissa F. Cornell graduated from Metropolitan State College of Denver in 2001 where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, and the University of Tulsa College of Law in 2004 where she received her Juris Doctor with honor.

While in law school, Melissa was an Editor of the Tulsa Law Review; Vice-President of the Board of Advocates; member of Phi Delta Phi; and received the distinguished Order of the Barristers award.

Since receiving her law degree, Melissa has become an active member of the Family Law Sections of the Tulsa County Bar Association, the Oklahoma Bar Association and the American Bar Association and been a regular featured speaker on divorce law topics for Legal Aid of Oklahoma.  She is also a published author on child custody issues for the Oklahoma Bar Journal.
